A “resting bitch face” is when someone has an angry, annoyed or unfriendly expression on their face when they are relaxed without intending to.
For example – “Everyone at the office thought I was annoyed about something but I was fine. I just have a resting b*tch face when I am working.”

The first clip is the actress Anna Kendrick on a chat show and she is talking about how in every photo that is taken of her she always has a “resting b*tch face” expression and she can’t help it.
Clip 2
The second clip is the actress Emily Blunt on a chat show and she is talking about a time when a director was pitching her a movie idea and the director thought she was bored and not interested due to her “resting b*tch face.”
Clip 3
Clip number three is from the TV show The Magicians and the male character is unsure of what the female character is thinking about or about to do due to her expression. He remarks that she seems like she is going to do something bad by saying “You have a look in your eye, that’s all.” She replies to this by saying “It’s called resting b*tch face.”
Clip 4
This clip is taken from Ru Paul’s Drag Race and one of the judges is praising how joyful one of the participants is during their performance and describes them as having “the opposite of a resting b*tch face.”

This clip is taken from Conan and on the show they are discussing the phenomenon of the resting b*itch face and the host Conan O’Brien uses Kanye West as an example that men can exhibit this expression too.
